The best from the tile set standard is a 47 pieces set that allows branches and connections to create complex, intricate maps.
Normally you will configure and use this type of sets with any auto tiling feature on your engine, if available, and once set you just paint with a brush tool over your canvas, the tile set dynamically, creating every connection automatically, avoiding the pain of picking and placing tiles one by one.
If an engine has auto-tiling features, it might be the case that standards are different from one another, and setups might differ in tile ordering, so the final tile set image itself should fill the requirements for each specific engine.
This is why it is so difficult to find tile set quality, variety, and the most difficult feature to find, is a game-ready preconfigured set with your specific engine auto-tiling requirements.
Generally, tile sets are made drawing a texture and representing surfaces of a single nature, this way you draw the set keeping a theme all over.
I found a way to artistically create 2 and 3 themes in a single set. The result is a dynamic mix of surfaces that branch different surfaces, and this makes them particularly unique.
The art process behind this, requires the use of a couple of paid software, Aseprite and Tilesetter, but sadly Tilesetter is unable to create such buildup, that's why is added a step in the workflow with time-consuming analysis by myself and pixel by pixel placement.
I don't think you will find anything like this anywhere else, so, consider leaving a suggestion in the comment section, so I can take care and build it for you.
I'm able to create 4 perspective styles for platformer gameplay, flat, 3/4 side, 3/4 top, and 3/4 oblique. But also this workflow is optimal for Top-Down sets as well, so I would consider a 3/4 down perspective to be a match for top-down hybrid tile-sets.
I will pick and create some of your suggestions in the comment section to create them and publish them right here, please don't hesitate if you are looking for something in particular.
